This has been a rough week for me as a mom. I think all moms have weeks like this. The toddler is having tantrums and the preschooler is having her “moments.” It made me wish for a second that there was a holiday for mom. No, not Mother’s Day… I mean a real holiday! A day someone else does all the housework, errands, discipline, teaching, yard work and diaper changing.
Ok so that is NOT going to happen. BUT I have made it a point to make time for ME! The thing that has worked for me is to grab 30-45 minutes after dinner when my husband can watch the kids. This does not work out every day but it is on our “schedule.” I take this time to grab a magazine, light some candles, turn on some music and pour in some bubble bath.
I like to use my favorites from EdenFantasys. Some of my top choices for relaxation are The Champagne Lights candles along with Intimate Organics Foaming Bath. And pop in the Best of Smooth Jazz, Vol.4 For Lovers. All of these help set the mood for a mini getaway.
I highly recommend you find what works for you. Maybe you like to run or read a book. Make it a priority to schedule in some alone time for you. MOMS need it! And everyone will be happier when mom is calm and happy!
