As a mom of it seems like every moment is a photo opp moment. I take dozens of photos a week. I love to share these photos with my friends and family as soon as possible. Because as a mom I am so proud of my kids and think every photo is the best thing they have ever seen. Doesn’t every mom think that? But when it comes to sharing online there is a huge worry about security! I am a very active member of facebook and it is a good way to share photos. However there are so many ways for people to see my kids that I do not know. And even those that I am “friends” with on facebook I may not want to see all my family photos. So I went searching for a new and safer way to share my photos with family and friends. I discovered Fotobounce and was very pleased with my experience!
What is FotoBounce?
- Create private photo sharing networks
- Transfer full resolution photo images
- Identify and tag family & friends
- Built-in face recognition
- Organize your photos by People in addition to Collections, Events and Places
- Facebook, Flickr and AirSet integration
- View photos from your mobile device
How does it work?
You download the free software here. It took about 4 minutes on my computer but note that my computer is slow! The first step is to select a photo library. This is the place on your computer where you store your photos. Then within minutes all of your photos are loaded to your Fotobounce account. Next you can add the people that you will have in your photos. This is important because of one great feature, face recognition. After your photos are loaded to Fotobounce it will ask you to identify faces. Once you assign a name to a face it automatically tags your photos and divides up your photos by person! I love this! This is a great feature that I have never used as efficiently before. And it is important to note that this face recognition data remains local to your computer, unlike the features offered by major social networking sites where they store and use your face data on their public servers. You can also categorize them by event, place or keywords. This makes it easy to go and find specific photos very quickly!
You can add the people you would like to share your photos with. This means you can share securely between a private network of friends and family, referred to as “Bouncers”. There is a quick tool to use that allows you to set up your email. By doing this you also are setting up a Fotobounce mail that allows you to send photos straight to your account from a phone or other location.
Bottom line and what do I think?
I love it! I have tried many other services including shutterfly, photbucket and facebook where you can store photos. Fotobounce is much more advanced in the options and ways to store the photos. I absolutely love the safe and quick way that I can share my photos. I have emailed my family and close friends that I would like to share my photos with. I feel so much safer knowing that my photos are not floating on the internet for anyone to find. When photos are on public servers they are available whether you think they are private or not.
I love the ease of using Fotobounce. I love how fast and easy it is to use! As a busy mom that is very important to me. That along with the security that Fotobounce brings me as a mom.I recommend giving Fotobounce a try. It is free and only takes minutes to set up!

Hi Heather,
Fotobounce is a cool photo sharing website, I love its easy to use interface most especially their software make it even more comfortable to upload and share photo. But do you think they can stand the test of time? because most of them start deleting photo when they start getting high volume of traffic. Thanks
