People who sign up will be invited during our beta period to interact and shop on our site. This period ( which will last until the public launch in September) is designed specifically to help us put the finishing touches on our website, identify any bugs in the site, streamline the user experience and test our social features that we are building into the site. We want to build the best social shopping site for the home furnishing and household goods industry and we believe that the best way to do that is through user participation and feedback. Users during this period are able to purchase directly from the site and create a unique profile if they are interested in participating in our user profile. They can participate on our forum, blog, share photo’s with the community, give us feedback, get points through participation which will add up to real savings on the site, invite friends and possibly write guest blog posts.We will contact people who sign up and let them know when the site is ready for the beta users. We are tentatively scheduled for a public launch of the site around the end of September provided there are no delays. Fobango is already on Facebook and Twitter.

The giveaway will be announced the day of our public launch. The couch in the picture is the sofa that is being given away ( A dark brown vinyl sofa with track arms. Dimensions: 85.75″L x 32.25″W x 35″H). There are no fees associated with the giveaway in any.

How it works:

Sign-ups are given a unique URL that acts as a referring link. Every time someone signs up via the link, the original user is given points towards winning the couch. The person with the most referring sign-ups will win the couch. This means that the more someone distributes their link the higher their chances. Tweet the link, ad it your FB wall, comment on blogs with it, write a blog post including the link, comment on forums with it and email all your friends and family to enlist them in helping you win the sofa. It’s quite simple and quite fair as participation is the key to winning the sofa and doesn’t rely on a ‘name out of a hat’ type situation.

What I think:

I am excited! Fobango is a ‘social’ shopping experience driven by the user community. I LOVE that! They are designed for the new digital person…that is ME! How exciting to have one site to find ideas for the living room and then see what others think. I am excited about this new site and new way to shop!
