Dating on a Dime (Celebrating our Anniversary on a Budget)

How long has it been since you and your “other half” were on a date? Seems like everyone is cutting back their spending and trying to save more. But it is so important that we continue some things like spending quality time with our significant other. Not only do we deserve it, we NEED it! Madame Deals and Living on Love and Cents have teamed up to bring you Dating on a Dime. Go here to see the previous posts. This week’s post is from Heather at living on Love and Cents. She is talking about celebrating your anniversary on a budget.

Next week my husband and I will be celebrating our ninth wedding anniversary. This weekend we have a babysitter and will be celebrating. WOOHOO!  This month was one that was tough on the budget. We didn’t have alot left for a big weekend trip out of  town, So I had to get creative for our celebration. Usually we head to a small bed and breakfast somewhere. But this year we are doing something different!

This year we are having a stay-cation. We are heading to the beach, which is about an hour from our house. I will be packing a picnic basket with our favorites and a blanket. A nice relaxing evening eating and spending time on the beach sounds very romantic. Since we are close to home we can come home afterwards.

No mater where you live you can create a romantic stay-cation. There is no need to spend money on a hotel or long road trip. You can have a romantic evening and make moments to treasure  without the added  expenses. Cut costs on your date  by staying close to home. I love this post. So many couples think that they cannot go on dates & rekindle romance because they don’t have a lot of money. But in fact there are so many things that don’t cost a lot or anything at all!

Love the ideas of dating for relatively cheap! It’s so hard to come up with ideas that won’t set you out a bunch of money. Thanks for the idea!! Hope you had a good anniversary.

Love the “stay-cation”! We do these quite often. I’d rather have a dozen small, close to home trips than 1 week long trip that I’m too tired to enjoy!

I never realized how important this was until we had our son and then date nights ceased to exist. We both missed it so much but between working, taking care of a new baby and lack of a babysitter and little extra cash we didn’t know what to do. What a great series of posts because we need this help.
