We’re having a Judy Moody Party! #JudyMoodySleepover

Remember when you were a child and you had a sleepover? Or maybe you called them slumber parties? Those were the days! And now I can let my child out again since I have a daughter. She is still young and wants me around so…. we are having a slumber party! We are celebrating the upcoming release of Fox Home Entertainment’s Judy Moody and the Not so Bummer Summer, which comes out on Blu-ray and DVD on October 18th.

If you are not familiar with Judy Moody check out this short video and learn 10 Things You Didn’t  Know About Judy Moody here.

And here is a little summary:

Get ready to score extra thrill points and mega-laughs with this irresistible family comedy based on the best-selling book series! Feisty, fearless Judy Moody is looking forward to the most super-duper, double-rare summer vacation ever. The trouble is, her parents are called out of town and her BFFs are going away with their own families. That leaves Judy trapped at home with her pesky brother Stink under the watchful eye of Aunt Opal (Heather Graham). But with a little playful planning – and a lot of imagination – Judy turns a snoresville summer into the way-not-boring adventure of a lifetime!

Looks exciting doesn’t it! My daughter is so excited about seeing this and honestly I am too! We have already invited a handful of friends over to have Judy Moody Slumber Party. The ages will range from 4-34, but I feel certain that all will love the Judy Moody movie and girly fun. I have several things in mind to make this a fabulously fun night including nail painting and crazy makeovers. I have these super cute Judy Moody inspired backpacks and sleeping masks. Maybe we can get some more awesome ideas from Judy herself. I found some Judy Moody Books on amazon for only $5.99 each or The Judy Moody Star-Studded Collection: Books 1-3 for only $12.22! What a great way to add to or start the girls’ book collections.

I would love some help from YOU! What would you suggest as entertainment, foods, decor, etc. for this crazy, girly Judy Moody party? I can’t wait to hear your ideas. I will post photos and maybe even a video of the party. So you may see us using your ideas!

  • you need some fabulous diva sunglasses and feather boas from the dollar store!!

According to my 2nd grader, you should have chocolate pudding and sandwiches to represent the poop sandwich in the movie. Since that was my least favorite part of the movie, I would NOT do that. Okay, now my daughter says I’m no fun. Maybe I’d make banana sandwiches and let the girls smear Nutella on it.

What I’d prefer to do would be some great messy art project like the ones the aunt did. Mosaics maybe, something involving lots of glue and pom poms and who knows what else.

You should use sturdy paper plates to make hats. Find all the little toys that are missing pieces, game pieces, beads, and anthing else you can think to decorate the “hats” and then use ribbon to keep them on your heads. I think this would be a super fun activity and we might have to have a Judy Moody sleepover to do it!!!

  • Sounds Fun! yes I love how we can sort of re-live all those things again once you have kids.
