I have said many times how much my kids love movies. I limit the tv time at our house. But I have wanted to a long time now a way for the kids to watch movies in the car! Car rides with the little ones can seem 10 times longer. You know the line “Are we there yet?” That is the dreaded line that I hear all the time! So I was thrilled to try the Audiovox Audiovox D710 7″ Portable DVD Player! Can it help entertain the kids?
We received the Audiovox 7-inch portable DVD player. This sleek compact 7-inch portable DVD player is lightweight and small enough to but in a diaper bag! It weighs less than 4 pounds! It is compatible with DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, picture CD and has 2 hour playback capabilities. We loved that it came with a car charger so we did not have to worry about the battery running out mid-trip. The 7 inch LCD display with 16:9 aspect ratio made the picture bright, crisp and just right for little eyes. We also loved that it had dual headphone jacks. That is fabulous for moms like me with 2 kids to entertain at one time!It also has a swivel screen that is perfect for getting it at just the right angle. I like the buttons are easily identified and available for the kids to control the movie as they need to.
My children LOVE the portable dvd player. And this means this mom loves it too. I mentioned it was the perfect size to put in your diaper bag and that means you really can take it anywhere. I have taken it with us to a meeting when I knew the kids would be board and it was a life saver! We have been using it constantly since we received it and I can say that it is very sturdy. It has withstood button pushing, being dropped and other things you would expect from little ones. But it is still holding up beautifully.
Now instead of hearing “Are we there yet?” I hear ” Awww Man! We are already there!”

This would be great for traveling when we have my stepson in the car with us every week we travel 2-3 hours for doctors and things for hubby. It would also be great for me when I am stuck staring out the window while traveling.

I love that it is so light (under 4 pounds?!) AND that the screen swivels! I have an older dvd player at the moment that almost never gets used because it is sooo stinking heavy that we hate to take it anywhere, and the screen doesn’t move, so you can’t share it very well. The Car Charger! We live in Michigan and our granddaughter in Chicago so when we pick her up and take her home for visits it is so nice to have something other than CD’s to entertain her. Not that I wouldn’t be willing to carry her on my back the whole way, just glad I don’t have to!
