Giving, with rewards
Ah, Rewards.. Well, giving of itself is a reward.
But I’m, talking about different kinds of rewards today..
Some of us collect points, codes, make purchases where a % goes to a charity or school.
That’s today’s giving topic.
Have picked up a Target Red Card and noticed that they say a % goes to a school of your choice? All you have to do is log on to your account and designate a school. My son’s Elementary school benefits when I use my Target Card. I cannot always afford to donate during their events or purchase through all the fundraisers. But if I need to purchase toilet paper, diapers and cleaning supplies and it helps the school in any way, I’m there!
There are all kinds of reward programs that offer not only an incentive for you or your family, but to charity as well.
If you have a child in diapers, I bet you collect Huggies and Pampers Points. Pampers offers you the opportunity to choose through 4 different charities (10 points = $0.10).
Huggies offers an opportunity to assist a baby with diapers. I had no idea that some parents have to reuse a soiled diaper because they cannot afford them.

After reading about this, I used a great big chunk of my points towards this charity!
My Coke Rewards (if you drink coke and collect the codes) also offers a variety of charities as well as donating to your school of choice.
Some bank cards that allow you to earn points,
also allow you to donate some to specific charities they work with.
Sometimes it’s difficult to part with those points isn’t it? You are saving up for something particular, or just hoarding them (I did that and then the program ended and I forfeited everything ugh).
But being able to assist someone less fortunate, a school, a program, a baby who can have a fresh diaper, is an amazing personal reward. When I teach my children about helping others, about giving just a little part of what we have, or earn, I earn a reward. Especially if they are eager to help.

Great post! I love being able to give back to schools and charities just buy shopping or collecting codes. I save all my box top for education. It helps them and makes it easier to give back for me when I don’t have a bunch of extra money.
My son always picks out food that has the box tops. He is proud of himself when he gets to take them to school and turn them in.
I love giving back through purchases I make anyway! We do Box Tops here, as well as a program where you save all types of lids and caps to donate to an organization that cashes them in and profits benefit chemo for kids
I often use points from various websites to donate to charity. It feels good to be able to give to a good cause since I can’t spare much out of my budget for charity

Beyond the reward points or box tops helping schools, one of the most valuable things you can do is volunteering your time in the school. There are many areas in addition to your child’s classroom that frequently need help as well. And it’s nice to have the school specifically let the parents know what they are purchasing with that money.
I do box tops, but I didn’t know that I could be contributing though Coke and Target also.. Guess i have to look into that. I will let other Parents and family know! Thanks for all information.
