How to Make Frizzy Hair Remedies at Home

Frizzy hair can turn your head-turner curls into a complete disaster. Surely, you can buy anti-frizz hair products from cosmetic shops, but the money you put on these products could have been spent better in your beloved skin care products and more. If you want to save yourself from expensive anti-frizz hair products, consider these recommended frizzy hair remedies you can make on your own.

Homemade Rinse

Rinsing your hair using the water in the shower might contribute in the frizz. So instead of this being your hair’s final rinse, use carbonated water, dark beer or apple cider vinegar instead.

Sparkling or carbonated water has a low pH level so it is effective in removing the frizz. On the other hand, dark beer moisturises your hair, leaving it frizz-free and beautiful. The third one, apple cider vinegar, also has a low pH level like carbonated water, but adds in the shine-factor in your frizz-free hair. The smell of dark beer is a major turn off for many, so most women choose apple cider vinegar than carbonated water for their final hair rinse.

Another homemade rinse is boiled tea leaves in water. Let the boiled tea cool for a few minutes and then use it to rinse your hair.

 Homemade Conditioner

Frizzy hair can be prevented with the right conditioner on hand. The best conditioner for frizzy hair is one that is packed with nutrients that can get rid of the dryness and make your hair look shiny and healthy.

A simple conditioner is olive oil. Since olive oil is a bit expensive for 2-3 times of use per week, coconut oil can be a great substitute. To make a conditioner out of these oils, simply pour one cup of the oil into a glass jar and heat the jar.

Another homemade conditioner is the mayonnaise-avocado mixture. Mash ½ cup of avocado into a container and mix in 1 cup of mayonnaise. Mix until you come up with a paste.

If you find mayonnaise as expensive for daily use, you can make use of over-ripened bananas and mash them together with avocados into a paste. These two fruits have essential vitamins and minerals to return your hair’s natural shine and glow.

Homemade Treatment Mixtures

To fix your frizzy hair, mix 1 cup of coconut milk with two tablespoons of gram flour. Dip your finger pads into the mixture and place them on your scalp. Using your finger pads (not nails), massage the scalp with the mixture all the way to the tip of your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 10 to 15 minutes, and then rinse well with warm water. After drying your hair, dip your fingers into warm water and comb your hair using your wet fingers.

For a low-cost treatment, get an egg and whip it thoroughly. Mix in one tablespoon of vinegar and apply the mixture onto your hair and scalp. Leave it on for at least 10 minutes and rinse the mixture off your hair. Do this at least three times a week for the best results.

  1. Thanks! I love using home remedies for my hair, it’s super curly and frizzy. I also tend to splurge on good quality products like pro naturals moroccan argan oil hair mask, at least I know they work :)
