Easy and Inexpensive DIY Valentine Decorations

Posted on Jan 30 2013 - 8:00am by Chrissy

Are you looking for some easy and inexpensive DIY Valentine Decorations ideas? I’m excited to share two projects that took only a couple minutes each.

The first project is a Conversation Heart Candle votive.

You only need 3 items to make this.

Conversation Hearts

Votive holder

Fill your votive holder half full of Conversation hearts and place your candle on the top. You shouldn’t eat the candies after using them as a decoration, they will be dried out and possibly have wax on them.

You can line a table with several of these or use votive holders in different sizes to create a different look.

I also created a framed 5×7 saying that I put on our coffee table for Valentine’s Day.  I had picked up an inexpensive white frame the last time I was at Ikea so I used that.  You can find a frame at many dollar stores that would work great.

If you like this, you can print a copy of your own over HERE

Keeping it simple yet festive is the best and easiest way to decorate.  I would love to see any Valentine projects that you have to share!  Leave them in the comments below and I will check them out!

LOVE the idea of conversation hearts in a votive, I’m pretty sure no one really eats them anyway. :) We just listed some Custom Valentine’s Printables on our Etsy shop, they’d make great home made kids valentines. https://www.etsy.com/listing/122125700/custom-printable-party-circles-stripe

LOVE the votive! Now, if I can only keep from eating all the small hearts at the bottom below the candle each day. Hmmm…maybe I’d better stick to Vday printables :).
