Get Moving & Get Rewarded In Many Ways #BalanceRewards #cbias

I have been working on getting healthy. I am trying to lose weight but also to feel better over all. I started with my natural smoothies that I am enjoying daily. Now that my energy level is picking back up I am ready to take the next step and get physical.

I have to say that I am NOT a physical person. I do not like to exercise or getting hot and sweaty. I realize that physical activity is something that my body needs but it is a struggle for me. And now that I am so out of shape and over weight it is especially challenging. Sometimes it feels like it takes forever to get results and feel rewarded for getting off my tail and getting physical. I was really excited to hear about a way that I could receive immediate rewards for taking this next step.

Walgreens has a really cool program referred to as Steps with Balance Rewards. This programs is really great for many reasons!

  • Receive points that lead to MONEY BACK just like you would when buying products in the store.
  • Keep track of your progress both in your physical activity and weight loss.
  • Set goals
  • See how well you are doing and feel motivated to keep going. It is easy to set up Steps with Balance Rewards right from your phone. I used my iPhone to check out the Walgreens App and the see what the program was all about. I logged into to my Walgreens Balance Rewards account using the App and set up a “Steps” account that will be connected to it.

Set up your goals. I have to admit when I saw 6000 steps a day I was spooked. I’ll talk more about that below. You can also customize your daily goals.

Add activity daily such as walking or your weight. I recorded my weight after I set my goals.

This is really cool! I was sitting in my favorite chair while I set up that account and it took about 5 minutes. Check out the before and after of my Reward Points. SWEET!

Here is a closer look at how Walgreens is rewarding me for getting physical. WOW! Just as the items I buy earn points so does getting up and working on my health. That is is awesome!

I went to Walgreens earlier today to get a few things and had my healthy lifestyle in mind. I found a few things to help me. It is amazing what you can purchase at Walgreens now. I was very impressed. I purchased a few things that would help me on this mission to get physical including new (super soft) socks and hot pink ear phones for my phone. Neither of these brought in extra rewards points but that is ok because my receipt reminded me that I am earning points for walking. See my shopping trip here.

I downloaded a free app to my phone to count my steps. You would be surprised how many steps you take a day when you are home with a little one. Reaching that 6000 steps is much easier than I thought.

I have my walking pretty and comfy socks on, walking shoes on and head phones in and I am heading out for an evening walk. I am excited to make this a part of my daily routine, I am loving how Steps with Balance Rewards is making this more fun and rewarding for me! I was so excited I posted on Instagram and Vine.

  1. Congrats on your decision to start walking and getting healthy!! I wish you all the luck in the world. You are so right with little ones it is not that hard to take those 6,000 steps in a day. I am not a physically fit person and hate doing the walking and exercise. I have a friend who walks and runs often so I decided I would try the walking with her, let me tell you three miles went by so fast and I could have went for more. Of course after that one walk we got pounded with over 3 feet of snow, but now the weather should start getting warmer and I am looking forward to our walks once again.
    We have both mentioned little ones, don’t forget to take walks without them as well because you will also get peace for a little while not worrying about the little one walking with you! I look forward to hearing of your success!
