She taught a session at SoFabCon that was all about community. I have to say this was one of my favorite sessions.

I LOVE each one of you who takes time to visit this site and have made this community what it is today. When I started this site over 3 years ago I wanted it to be a place where I could help other moms while helping myself to. I live the “real” life with spilled milk, dirty diapers, no sleep and days with no showers. I am just like you! I want this to be a place where you can see you are not alone and get tips for living. We are in this crazy life together!

So what did I learn to make this site better?

Reach your community!
1. Reach them where they are. Are they on Facebook, Twitter, etc? What times are best for them?
2. Know your audience and be relevant. What are their passions and concerns? Talk about things that matter to you and to them!
3. Be consistent! Give them a place where they know what to expect and when to except it.
4. Give them something Free. Giveaways! We all love them!
5. Be a friend! Reach them on a personal level. Let them have a comfortable place to learn and to share.

I hope that you feel I am doing these things. I adore you all and appreciate the time you spend connecting with me!
