You may have heard of the movie I am about to tell you about. If not, you will be so excited that you know now! UNSTOPPABLE is brought to us by Kirk Cameron, as he takes us on an inspiring and hope-filled visual journey to better understand the biggest doubt-raising question in faith: “Where is God in the midst of tragedy and suffering?” Why does God let bad things happen?

UnstoppableDVD

Kirk Cameron is best known for his memorable role as “Mike Seaver,” a cultural icon of the 80′s, with his mullet hairstyle, cool glasses, and wisecracking comebacks. More recently he enjoyed much success with the No. 1 grossing inspirational film of 2008, Fireproof, and his recent documentary, Monumental. Kirk and his wife, Chelsea, were on-screen sweethearts during their Growing Pains years and are the founders of Camp Firefly, where terminally and seriously ill children and their families are provided an all-expense paid retreat (www.CampFirefly.com). Together, Kirk and Chelsea live in California with their six children.

UNSTOPPABLE was in theaters for only two weeknights (Sept 24th and Oct 3th, 2013), UNSTOPPABLE: A Live Event with Kirk Cameron sold a staggering 260,000 tickets and reached a theatrical gross of over $3.2 million dollars. I was unable to attend the live event. I followed the UNSTOPPABLE Facebook Page and then read as Kirk’s film premiered after social media controversy of that Facebook Page. I knew immediatley this would be a powerful movie! It was! It still is!

We had a family night and watched UNSTOPPABLE. I was so excited I shared via Instagram.

I was so impressed with how Kirk told the stories and was so passionate!

My thoughts: WOW! I struggled to find the right words without telling you everything in the movie. UNSTOPPABLE was inspired by the death of Cameron’s close friend who succumbed to cancer at the age of 15.

Kirk beautifully weaves the story of a heart breaking loss with the story of creation and so many of the bad things that followed. The parallel that he made was remarkable! In EVERY bad thing that happened ,GOD WAS THERE!

GOD WAS THERE!

The good do not always win. The bad are not always punished. Sometimes the bad are protected. All along, we ask WHY? GOD, WHY?

The answer is profound! You must walk on the journey with Kirk Cameron to really get it. Start from the beginning with him. Watch. See the hand of God move powerfully.

I will leave you with this quote from Kirk that hit a powerful chord with me:

“GOD IS GOOD AND HIS PURPOSES ARE UNSTOPPABLE!”

  8. Birdiebee says:

Yes, I have when I lost my husband and my daughter. I have had much tragedy in my life and now my best friend has much in hers as she just lost her only son.

  9. Angelique Drummond says:

Of course, I don’t know any one who hasn’t! But its having faith enough even in those times to trust God has plans in motion that you can’t begin to comprehend and its not ours to know “why”. I’d love to see this movie, I have had many friends that have struggled with their faith from these “why” moments and it’s just so difficult to find the words to say, to help them see their way through it.

  10. Amanda Alvarado says:

Yes I have especially after losing our youngest daughter. I will never know why God chose to take her but I live with faith everyday that I will see her again.

  11. Tara Liebing says:

I’ve always asked God Why, because I face so many struggles in life. I find myself trying to find his reasoning for certain times in my life.

  12. Yes…when my Daddy failed to wake up after heart surgery, and passed a week later.
