Am I Making a Difference? (Encouragement from 1 Mom to Another)

Today I saw something on tv. This lady was making a powerful difference in the world. Changing lives, traveling the world. It got me thinking. Am I making a difference? Why am I here? Am I making the world a better place? Is this the life I am intended to live? Am I doing enough?

Then I looked up and saw these faces.

The answer to all those questions is YES!

If you are a stay at home mom, work at home mom, working outside the home mom, expecting mom, a step mom, foster mom, The answer is yes for you too.

The days of dirty laundry, fingerprints on the tv, spilled juice, wiping dirty bottoms, helping your child poop, constantly cooking and doing dishes, kissing booboos that you can’t see, searching for bandaids, never peeing in silence, cuddling during a rain storm, stopping sibling fights, and looking for rainbows are all temporary. image

I remember thinking my daughter would be a baby forever. I thought those horrible toddler years would never end. But they did. Now we listen to boy bands together. (Yes I love 1 Direction and Big Time Rush!)image

That is life. This is what I was born to do. In these crazy days when I am lucky to eat lunch or take a shower, I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. Raising these precious people that God trusted me with.

So, when I think my days are wasted….I am wrong. So are you. Each day, do what you were put here to do. Even if it means watching Frozen for the millionth time, then building a castle in the living room, and listening to the kids scream the songs at the top of their lungs. Embrace this season of your life. It will never be exactly like this again.mommy moments

  1. Yes. This. Great read Heather.

  2. I remember questioning staying at home with my kids and my bff and I realized it was the best job we could ever have. The other day I was thinking about how I’ve never led anyone to Christ, but then I look at all 4 of my kids and realize I didn’t need to travel to Africa or China. I have 4 kids who have come to know Christ because I was their mom. You are doing SUCH an amazing job with your family!!
